Fernando Arce

Fernando is a Toronto-based independent journalist and editor who’s worked with non-profit and mainstream news organizations for over ten years.

His investigations and analyses focus on:

1) The evolution of and challenges to Indigenous sovereignty in Canada and abroad;

2) The role and effect of neoliberal policies at the international, regional and community levels;

3) The struggles and successes of grassroots movements.

He has reported from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Mexico, Venezuela and Ecuador in both English and Spanish.

His work has appeared in the Walrus, Maclean’s, NOW, Ricochet Media, This Magazine, the London Free Press and others.

As a Media Co-op Board Member, he has helped revitalize the organization as it transitions into a new entity.

Fernando holds a BA in political science from York University and an MA in journalism from the University of Western Ontario.
